How to build a website
Use the videos below to get you started when building your own website. They take you from initial set up to setting up menus and building pages. As more questions arise and feedback comes in I will ensure I upload more how to and problem solving videos to ensure a smooth transition to creating your own subject hub.

Step 1You have signed up...what next. See this video showing how to get on to the editor and prepare your template for content population
Step 2The layout of your site is important for ease of navigation and accessibility. The website must be purposeful so consider what you want to use it for and organise it as such. Consider if it is worth having additional pages or simply added more content on to the same page and consider how things may be categorised together. You can link pages through the use of hyperlinks and more.
Step 3Now all your menus and pages are set up, lets start building. Use this video as a quick guide on how to populate your pages with resources, videos, tutorials, links, documents and more.

Passwords
Adding a password to your site will help keep your resources, lessons, departmental documents, kids work and images safe. It will help ensure it is a dedicated resource for the staff and students and of Churchdown School. Passwords can only be added once the site has been upgraded with ASL. Once that is doen follow the steps below to add passwords to your site and to individual pages.
A site password should be something that is easy to remember for the students. I find it easy to stick with the domain name to create consistency. This will also create consistency amongst the students when accessing different subject hubs
Below you can learn how to add a password to a specific page on your site. On this occasion it has been used for a staff page to obviously keep staff and student resources separate. You have the ability to add members to your site and give them individual log ins. These logins will give access to specific pages determined by you. Different members of the department may have access to more pages depending on their role or what you wish to share via this medium.
