Media is all around you. You use it every day when accessing the internet, films, tv, music and social media.
It is the fastest growing industry on the planet creating new jobs and career opportunities every day exploiting the latest in technological innovation. It could lead in to careers in film, tv, journalism, social media or jobs that haven’t even been conceived yet!

Every Thursday after school from 3.15 to 4, the media department will be running the media club; brand new this year exclusively for year 7 and year 8!
You will get to learn production and development skills to make your own media products such as magazines, short films, adverts and more…
The media department has the latest camera equipment and editing software as well as a dedicated mac suite where you will learn editing skills on photoshop and final cut pro.
We will cover a range of themes through the projects we complete such as travel and tourism, marketing, current affairs and school related issues.

Team LOGO
each team will need to have a logo to help identify their work. Use the following steps to help you create a logo.
- Choose a team name. It must be something short and catchy that will help summarise the image you want your team to have.
- Create a folder on your teams new memory stick with your team name.
- Research images you want to in your logo from google and save them in to your new folder.
- Next you should download the file below and save it to our folder.

- Open up the team logo template and this will launch photoshop.
- From inside photoshop you will be able to select open and you can then chose to open all the other images ou have downloaded
- You will also have photos of your group members taken to appear on the logo.
- These will be transferred on to your memory stick
- Finally you have everything you need. Now start to explore photoshop and ask for help when you need it.
When you have completed your logo you must save the photo shop file as a PSD and also as a PNG so it can be used on your projects we create this year.
